Offered and signed: The West Brom prospects the club have moved to keep

Taking a look at the next gen at The Hawthorns.

Albion have offered deals to several young players as part of their end-of-season business.

There was a nod to the Baggies’ academy this week as Morgan Rogers was among the Villa goalscoring heroes in their Europa League triumph.

Halesowen’s Rogers, a boyhood Baggie, was a jewel of Albion’s academy before he was poached by Manchester City. The target has to be to keep hold of the next generation.

Among the released were midfielder Kevin Mfuamba and centre-back Mo Diomande, who have been around first-team reckoning. Joining them were Dan Chimeziri, Evan Humphries, Miller McDonald, Deago Nelson, Torin Ntege, Donte German-Ranger, Adam Okorodudu and Liam Wilkes.

Here is a look at the youngsters Albion have tried to keep.

Offered

Ben Cisse

Goalkeeper Cisse is 21 in September and has long been a Baggies prodigy. Injuries wrecked a lot of 2025/26 for the England youth international.

But West Bromwich-born Cisse has non-league loan experience under his wings and will eye a push to impress James Morrison’s first team if he sticks around.

Akeel Higgins

Attack-minded Higgins, 21 this summer, comes off the back of a reasonably impressive League One loan at Exeter, albeit one that ended in relegation disappointment.

It is a fine level for the speedster to cut his teeth and to make 11 starts and 31 appearances in all is not to be sniffed at.

Higgins could make an impression around pre-season.

Jamal Mohammed

Towering centre-back Mohammed, formerly of Peterborough, has caught the eye in his few years at the club and come back well from terrible knee injuries.

The 20-year-old had a first senior loan with non-league Gloucester City at step four of the non-league pyramid and helped them to the play-offs as he impressed.

He played 15 times in a spell that hopefully focuses and sharpens his style. Mohammed has impressed Baggies bosses before, Tony Mowbray among them.

Brian Okonkwo

The keeper, 20, is younger brother of Wrexham shot-stopper Arthur and joined after a successful trial having left Arsenal last year.

He played 15 times for the under-21s during the season and impressed enough to earn a new offer. Okonkwo will hope to stand out in a busy department of young Albion keepers.

Jaiden Francis-Caesar

An interesting attacking prospect who moved to the club from a London grassroots academy, forward Francis-Caesar recently turned 18 and has time on his side.

He did well playing up an age group at under-21s and scored goals against continental opponents Juventus, Valencia and Borussia Monchengladbach. Francis-Caesar will become a prominent figure in the under-21s next term if he signs.

Signed

Remar McNeil

There is big excitement around this Dudley-born wing star, who has recently turned 17.

He shone against a star-studded Liverpool under-21s side including Rio Ngumoha and bagged three goals and three assists in 11 outings for Leigh Downing’s under-21s in his first campaign at the level.

It is encouraging news the Baggies have secured McNeil’s services for two years and he could be set for another big season next time around.

Extensions

Joe Wallis

Two more goalkeepers here - as New Zealand youth international Wallis, 21 next month, enjoyed lots of first-team exposure this season.

He and Cisse lead the way in the young keepers pushing through. There is certainly no lack of competition there.

Irish-born keeper Brady, 19, was more a back-up at under-21s level and had injuries to contend with but wracked up experience in his first year in the age group and will hope to sample more.
