Shrewsbury Town's new squad numbers confirmed ahead of 2026/27 season
Salop have confirmed their new squad numbers - and there are some changes.
Shrewsbury Town have confirmed their squad numbers for the new season, with several players handed new shirts ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Town’s eight summer signings have all received their squad numbers, while Isaac England, Will Gray, Kevin Berkoe, Sam Stubbs and Josh Ruffels have all switched to new numbers.
England, who previously wore the number 38 shirt, has been handed number four, while fellow academy graduate Gray moves from number 43 to number 21. Both youngsters are expected to play prominent roles for Salop this season.
Berkoe, Gavin Cowan’s first signing in late January, has swapped number 30 for the number 11 shirt.
Ruffels, who signed a new contract earlier this summer, has moved from number 25 to number three, while central defender Stubbs takes the number six shirt after wearing 26 last season.
The reshuffle follows a summer of arrivals and departures, with several squad numbers becoming available. Transfer-listed quartet Sam Clucas, Tom Anderson, Ricardo Dinanga and Callum Stewart have not been included in the club’s confirmed squad list.
Among the new arrivals, Jay Turner-Cooke has been given the number seven shirt, while fellow midfielder Isaac Fletcher will wear eight.
Goalkeeper Sam Proctor takes 12, Josh Davison has been handed number 13 and Arkell Jude-Boyd will wear number 17. Veteran midfielder Jack Price has been allocated number 19 following his return to his hometown club, while Byron Pendleton takes 22 and Joe Gbode 27.
Third-year scholars Jay Snook, Reuben Falding and Jeval Thompson-McKenzie, who have all featured during pre-season, have been awarded the number 28, 29 and 30 shirts respectively.
