‘Ruthless’ - Fleetwood Town will want more of the same against Shrewsbury Town
10 unbeaten: The Fleetwood Town run Shrewsbury must stop.
Fleetwood Town are unbeaten in 10 and have already shown Shrewsbury Town exactly what they are capable of.
The Cod Army have yet to taste defeat this season, following on from four unbeaten games at the end of the previous campaign.
Fleetwood were particularly impressive when they last faced Shrewsbury, cruising to a 4-0 victory in the EFL Cup 10 days ago after going 3-0 up at half-time. They have since been held to 1-1 draws by Grimsby Town and Oldham Athletic, the latter coming at Highbury in midweek.
Home draws have become something of a theme for Fleetwood, who have now shared the points in seven of their last nine league games at Highbury, including each of their last four.
In fact, since the start of the 2024/25 campaign, Fleetwood have drawn more home league matches than any other side across the top four tiers of English football, with 23.

Shrewsbury, meanwhile, have failed to score in each of their last four away league matches and have not gone longer without finding the net on the road since November 2023.
Fleetwood will again look to Ched Evans for inspiration.

The experienced striker struck twice in the cup victory over Town, taking his tally to four goals for the season, and Matt Lawlor will hope his side can reproduce the ruthless attacking display they produced that night.
“We were fantastic,” Lawlor said after the 4-0 win. “At the right times, we scored, we kept it ruthless, we kept it relentless.
“We kept repeating what we were good at and we were successful.”
