Shrewsbury Town suffered their first League Two defeat of the season as they were beaten at Gillingham.

Town made a slow start and were behind on 12 minutes when they failed to deal with a long throw from Jack Payne and Chris Palmer rifled home from 12 yards.
Chances were few and far between for Town and Gillingham could have doubled their lead on 51 minutes when Mat Sadler was harshly penalised for handling a Barry Fuller cross.
Chris Neal saved the resulting penalty from Bayo Akinfenwa but he was beaten from the spot nine minutes later by Palmer after Danny Spiller was tripped by Craig Disley.
Mark Wright twice went close to pulling a goal back late on for the visitors, but it wasn't Shrewsbury's day.
