Gavin Cowan provides positive update on Shrewsbury Town’s Tom Sang, Luca Hoole and Isaac England

Gavin Cowan provided updates on Tom Sang, Luca Hoole and Isaac England before Town’s trip to Crawley

Tom Sang is in contention for Shrewsbury Town’s trip to Crawley Town after recovering from injury.

Sang has returned to the grass and full team training after suffering a hamstring injury at Newport County last month.

The 26-year-old missed Salop’s past three matches against Tranmere Rovers, Bromley and Oldham Athletic.

Boss Cowan confirmed Sang is back available and could make his return at Crawley tomorrow.

He said: “Sang will be close. Sang will be really close for this week. We've literally got him out on the grass now.”

Meanwhile, Cowan provided a positive update on Luca Hoole, who has also recently returned to the pitch as he recovers from an ankle injury.

The defender was forced off before half-time in Town’s defeat to Walsall in late February and has missed eight matches since.

Cowan added: “We're hoping maybe the final game, if we can scrape him in for Fleetwood Town, amazing.

“But we don't want to push it at this stage of the season.”

Young academy product Isaac England was also unavailable for Town’s victory over Oldham last weekend after suffering illness, but Cowan confirmed he is now back available.

“He's not been very well,” Cowan said. “He'll be available for selection in the squad.”
