The defender joined Salop in 2015, making the move from Mansfield Town, but will not extend his stay any further, instead opting to join Coventry City - who secured promotion to League One through the play-offs.

Brown joins Mark Robins' side on a two-year deal, having decided against staying at Salop, who had offered him a new deal.

The defender managed just 15 appearances for the club this season after suffering an ACL injury in October - but did make a long awaited return to the first-team squad in the League One play-off final defeat to Rotherham.

Brown is the second player to depart Salop over the past week, with Craig MacGillivray moving on to Portsmouth on a free transfer in the hope of more first-team football.

“I am very pleased to bring Junior to the club and that he has chosen to accept our offer, having also had other options on the table too." Robins said of Brown.

“He is a player with much experience at this level and is strong both defensively and in attack too. We look forward to him joining us in July and adding further quality to our squad.”
