Gavin Cowan’s Shrewsbury Town side got their first minutes of pre-season under their belts in a goalless draw with non-league Stafford Rangers.

All seven of Salop’s summer signings were involved across the 90 minutes at Marston Road as Town fielded two different XIs in each half.

Goalkeeper coach Harry Burgoyne donned the gloves after the break, while latest arrival Joe Gbode made his first appearance in the opening half.

Fellow new recruits Byron Pendleton, Isaac Fletcher and Arkell Jude-Boyd also started, while the match marked a return to Stafford for Isaac Lee, who played for the club during his rise through the non-league ranks.

After the interval, Jack Price made his first appearance since returning to Shrewsbury, while striker Josh Davison and Jay Turner-Cooke were also among those to feature.
The game ended goalless, with Town now turning their attention to the Isle of Man, where they will take part in the Summer Football Festival.
