Plastic pitch plea from Plough Inn Wellington

The Plough Inn Wellington will call for their ill-fated FA Sunday Cup last 16 clash to be played on an artificial surface if the weather forces its postponement again tomorrow (1pm).

The Telford Sunday League Premier Division side have seen four previous attempts to play Aylesbury scuppered by the prolonged wet weather.

Aylesbury have been drawn as the home team but the tie was switched to Shropshire after two failed attempts to play the game. Two further attempts also suffered the same fate.

The Plough landlord Ed Low said: "When I phoned the ground they said the pitch was really spongy and any more rain and it would be off.

We are going to try to speak to the FA to see if we can get it played on a 3G pitch if that happens."
