Premier League down to two in British Super Cup
All the latest action from across the county’s bowling greens.
Just two Premier League clubs have made the last 16 of the 31-up knockout for the British Super Cup.

Past winners Castlefields will now face Dudley Dell in a four home-four away tie to be played before August 31 while Wrockwardine Wood must tackle Penn.
Dudley Dell’s bowlers ended the hopes of Sir John Bayley thanks to a 36 shot margin in their home leg, despite Joe Dicken winning 31-21,
Oswestry League big guns Chirk AAA completed their last 32 tie against Woodman MP on Sunday and agonisingly lost by one chalk overall, having lost away by 25 with Owen Jackson (31-25) their only winner.
North Shropshire Parks Junior Merit
The plaudits flowed for young Shropshire bowler Ellis Griffiths as his stunning season rolled on with another title.
He retained the North Shropshire Parks Junior Merit trophy, adding to his Tanners Shropshire League under-18 singles triumph in May and winning the Mid Shropshire League doubles with Jack Cooke.
The highly-rated Prince of Wales Hotel 14-year-old beat Myles Fisher (Wem USC) in the Parks final at Whitchurch’s District Club on Saturday.
Shrewsbury-based Griffiths won 21-17, both young bowlers still basking in the glow of Shropshire’s British junior county championship success from the previous weekend.
County junior selector and past county president Brenda Slingo hit the nail of the head as she said: "Congratulations Ellis - what a year you are having!”
Oswestry Bowling League
Michelle Nolan and Connor Edwards had the biggest smiles after a double-header of Oswestry Bowling League competitions.
Nolan (Johnstown) won the ladies singles and Edwards (Chirk AAA) took the junior singles prize at Llangollen on Sunday.
Seven entered the ladies knockout and Nolan beat Terri Williams 21-11 in the final while Edwards won a best-of-three under-18 showdown with Dylan Pritchard 2-1.
Meanwhile, league chiefs have announced details of how they are going to extend the season for teams in the lower divisions which have a smaller number of sides.
“Teams in Division four (10) will be contacted soon regarding entering a divisional cup to extend their season into September,” said a spokesman. “For teams in divisions five and six, it was agreed at the AGM, to split the two divisions into two phases.
“So from Thursday, July 30, the top four (in each division) will play each other again in home and away fixtures, with the bottom four doing the same to give a final table.”
