Wolverhampton man, 23, admits punching staff member at Shrewsbury late-night venue 'at least four times'
A man has admitted assaulting a member of staff at a Shrewsbury nightclub.
Daniel Mitchell, aged 23, punched the victim “at least four times” at Albert’s Shed in Shrewsbury, including while he was on the floor.
Telford Magistrates Court was told how he had an altercation with a security guard on January 28, 2023.
He left the club but then turned back around and got involved when he saw one of his friends headbutt a doorman.
Shakeel Ahmed, prosecuting, said that Mitchell’s assault left his victim with a “serious” eye injury.
Mitchell, of Lingfield Avenue, Bushbury, Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has no previous convictions.
District Judge Ian Barnes adjourned Mitchell’s sentence so a pre-sentence report can be prepared.
Mitchell is due to be back at court on April 9 to face justice. He was granted bail in the meantime.
