Important information about PD days (teacher training days)
The term dates published by Shropshire Council are not necessarily a complete list of every day on which an individual school will be closed.
The council states that Shropshire-maintained schools and academies are required to allocate five professional development (PD) days for staff during the academic year. Schools may therefore have additional closure days that are not shown as standard term dates on the council's calendar.
Parents and carers should check with their child's school directly to confirm its exact term dates, PD days and holidays.
Holidays during term time
Parents and carers planning a family holiday during term time should contact the school before booking travel. Shropshire Council warns that permission for a child to be absent during term time may not be granted.
