Owner of home on one of Telford's most expensive streets told to remove 'unauthorised' solar panels

The local authority referred to the set up as “over-dominant”

The occupiers of a Telford home have been issued with an enforcement notice over an alleged ‘unauthorised’ installation of eight solar panels.

Telford & Wrekin Council has issued an enforcement notice to the owners of a home on one of the town’s most expensive streets.

The occupier of one home on Holyhead Road in Wellington - where homes regularly sell for around £600,000 - has been accused of putting up eight solar panels without permission.

In the enforcement notice, Telford & Wrekin Council referred to the solar panels as an “over-dominant feature” that could have a “significant detrimental impact” on neighbours.

The notice continued: “The council does not consider that planning permission should be given, because planning conditions could not overcome the problems.”

The resident has until October 12 to appeal the enforcement notice, after which they will have two months to remove the panels.
