Two royal visits confirmed for Shropshire next month

The visits will include four engagements across Shropshire.

Two royal visits will be taking place in the county over the next month.

The county’s Lord Lieutenant, Anna Turner, confirmed that The Princess Royal will be visiting Shropshire on September 17 and 24.

The first engagement will see the Princess Royal visit the West Mids Showground in Shrewsbury, where she will meet with representatives from West Mercia Search and Rescue and the Men’s Sheds organisation.

On September 24 the Princess Royal will first visit Fordhall Organic Farm at Market Drayton to mark its 20th Anniversary, then Harper Adams University in Newport, where she will attend a reception to mark its 125th anniversary.

The Lord-Lieutenant said she was looking forward both engagements.

She said: “I am delighted to be welcoming Her Royal Highness back to Shropshire. The two days will be busy but a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of the fabulous work being done in Shropshire by these amazing organisations.”
