Oswestry's Post Office has been voted one of the best in the region. The office in Willow Street has been named runner-up in the competition to find the Best Main Post Office in the Midlands for 2006.
The Best Post Office Awards aim to recognise the hard work and community spirit of people working in Post Office branches across Britain.
There are prizes for the best rural, town and city, and directly managed branches and also three special award categories for subpostmasters and their teams who do "that little bit extra" to offer customers a great service.
Karen Evans, branch manager at the Post Office in Willow Street, said they were delighted to receive the accolade, which comes following the top marks given to them by customers who completed a scorecard.
She added: "We would like to say a big thank you from all our counter staff to our customers who voted for us."
