With Christmas just around the corner, there’s no better time to consider giving a rescue dog the gift of a loving forever home.
From sofa-loving seniors and affectionate companions to energetic adventurers ready to explore, Dogs Trust Shrewsbury has plenty of wonderful dogs hoping to find their perfect match.
Each has their own personality, quirks and needs, but they all have one thing in common: they’re waiting for someone to give them a place to call home.
Whether you’re looking for a four-legged walking buddy, a cosy cuddle companion or a playful pooch to bring some extra joy to family life, your perfect match could be among them.
Meet the dogs looking for their happy ending this Christmas, and find out more about how you could give one of them the fresh start they deserve.

1. Meet Lacy!
Described as “the sweetest little nugget” whose tail “never seems to stop wagging”, three-year-old Lacy is an upbeat spaniel with a knack for making people smile. The Dogs Trust team say she could live with another dog, would enjoy having canine friends to socialise with and could share her home with older children. | Phil Blagg

2. Say hi to Bella!
Beautiful Bella is a 10-year-old Doberman who is looking for a calm and loving retirement home where she can enjoy life at her own pace. The team say she’s gentle and affectionate and loves nothing more than a sofa snuggle. She’ll need to be the only pet, but will happily live with primary school aged children and above. | Phil Blagg

3. Meet Jenny
“Affectionate” whippet cross Jenny is looking for a calm home with adopters who can offer her plenty of companionship. The team at Dogs Trust say the three-year-old pooch is a polite and friendly girl who loves treats and squeaky toys. She’s polite to visiting dogs and walking companions but she’ll need to be the only pet. | Phil Blagg Photography
