Telford burlesque group returning with latest showcase production
The show is the group’s fifth since it was set up
A Telford burlesque troupe is returning with its latest production.
JazKit Burlesque’s new showcase It’s Not A Phase explores the influence of emo culture and LGBTQIA+ pride through cabaret, accompanied by live singers and a special guest, renowned drag king Mr Brake Down.
The show takes place on Friday, November 20, at Wellington’s Belfrey Theatre. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm show.
People attending must be 18 or over and tickets can be booked in advance or bought on the door - subject to availability.
Launched in 2023 by co-founders All That Jazz and Kitty Mystique, JazKit Burlesque provides burlesque classes around Shropshire and performs at events with its dedicated dance company.
The group also hosts guest workshops by other artists and is currently organising the first Shropshire Burlesque Festival to be held at The Edge Arts Centre in April 2027.
It’s Not A Phase is the fifth JazKit Burlesque showcase, displaying the talents of established and new burlesque and drag artists and live vocalists.
The group said: “You can expect to be entranced by solo and group performances to punk rock hits and LGBTQIA+ anthems. There’s something for everyone, with a fabulous night out guaranteed!”
Tickets, which are priced at £10 for early bird sales, and £12 general sale, are available online.
