Tankers brought in as water supply disruption hits Shrewsbury homes
The company said pumps had stopped working in the area
Severn Trent has apologised to customers facing disruption to their water supply in Shrewsbury.
On Tuesday morning (July 28) Severn Trent Water reported that some customers were experiencing “no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water” after pumps stopped working in the SY2 area of Shrewsbury.
Just before 7am, a spokesperson for the company said engineers were already on their way to reset the pumps.
Soon after, an update said tankers were being used to pump water back into the water network.
They said: “Our teams are working hard to get your water flowing as normal again and you may notice tankers around the area which are pumping water back into our network to restore your water supply while our works continue.
“Until we get the area back to normal your supply may be intermittent at times. Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.”
