South Shropshire bridge to close for essential maintenance with 24-mile diversion in place
The bridge will be closed for four days for essential maintenance
A bridge over a river in south Shropshire is set to close for four days later this month.
Clun Bridge will close for essential maintenance work from May 26 to May 29.
The work will involve taking down and rebuilding a section of the upstream left parapet, resetting displaced copings and general pointing work.

To carry out the work safely, the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9.30am to 4pm each day.
When the road is closed, an official 24-mile diversion will be in place, directing drivers through Knighton and Leintwardine, but shorter routes may be available to drivers depending on vehicle types.
Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the works and access to frontages will be maintained up to the bridge closure.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Council said: “Inevitably there will be some disruption during the work but every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience.”
Updates and a full diversion map is available to view online on the One Network website.
