Idyllic Shropshire homes on sale with their own pools
Take a look at these houses which offer some doorstep swimming to help you battle through the hot weather
With the weather hitting record temperatures this week, you would be forgiven for daydreaming about owning a house with your own pool.
As luck would have it, one Shrewsbury property agency currently has a few homes on its books offering just that - along with some great outdoor space in which to fire up the barbecue and enjoy the hot weather.
The following properties - which admittedly are not for those with smaller budgets - are either currently on the market or have been recently sold subject to contract by Roger Parry & Partners.
Spencer Lodge is in Plealey, a small village near Pontesbury west of Shrewsbury, and is the "cheapest" on our list at a mere £925,000.
It is a six-bedroom, grade II-listed country house set in attractive grounds, with a heated, covered swimming pool and outdoor space that make it particularly well suited to the summer months.

Priced at a cool £2.5 million, Orchard House is in Dovaston, about halfway between Shrewsbury and Oswestry.
Set in eight acres, it has five bedrooms, equestrian facilities, extensive outbuildings and a heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub and a dedicated entertainment space.

Marche Manor is located near Halfway House off the A458 to Welshpool, west of Shrewsbury.
A snip at £1.25 million, it has seven bedrooms and is a grade II* country estate, set in seven acres of gardens and woodland which include a private lake and a large lawn which was once tennis courts and now has a helipad.

Roger Parry has recently agreed a sale on Lea House at Lea Cross, also near Pontesbury and also priced at £1.25 million.
The grade II country house, which dates back to the 14th century, is set in 3.7 acres and also has a 2.5-acre paddock.
It has a heated, outdoor swimming pool, far-reaching views of the Shropshire countryside and even comes with some outbuildings ripe for conversion.

Josh Gray, a surveyor with Roger Parry & Partners in Shrewsbury, said: "At this time of year, buyers are often looking beyond the house itself and paying just as much attention to the lifestyle a property can offer.
"Features such as swimming pools, leisure space and well-designed gardens can make a real difference, particularly when the weather is like it has been in recent weeks.
"We're fortunate to be marketing a number of homes across the region that offer exactly that, whether it's a pool, outstanding grounds or space to enjoy outdoors."
