Tree works taking place in Shrewsbury's Quarry
The work involves reducing a number of overgrown yew trees to approximately six feet in height
Works to cut back yew trees in a popular Shrewsbury park are expected to be completed by this weekend.

Shrewsbury Town Council said the work in The Quarry has been “progressing well”.
The work taking place near Victoria Avenue has been arranged by Shropshire Horticultural Society.

An update from the town council said: “Essential tree works near Victoria Avenue in The Quarry are progressing well, with work expected to be completed before the weekend.
“The work, arranged by Shropshire Horticultural Society, involves reducing a number of overgrown yew trees to approximately six feet in height. This will allow the main trees along Victoria Avenue to grow unimpeded.
“Thank you to residents and visitors for their patience while the work takes place. Please continue to respect temporary closures, keep clear of the working areas and follow all on-site safety signage.
“The footpath between St Julian’s Friars car park, near Greyfriars Bridge, and The Quarry remains open as normal.”
