600 sign petition in favour of Shrewsbury Muslim prayer centre
A petition in support of Shrewsbury's first Muslim prayer centre was being delivered to Shirehall today.
The online petition has been launched by anti-racism group Hope Not Hate and has collected more than 600 signatures in less than a week.
The organisation has put together the letter ahead of Shropshire councillors deciding tomorrow on whether to allow the change of use of the former register office at Column Lodge in Preston Street.
Representatives of the group were visiting Shropshire Council's headquarters this afternoon to present their petition.
