New headliner announced for Live at Ludlow Castle 2027

A legendary West Midlands reggae band has been announced as a new headliner for Live at Ludlow Castle 2027.

UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will headline Ludlow Castle on July 18.

The new headliner joins Becky Hill and McFly, who were previously announced as headliners for next year’s Live at Ludlow Castle in recent weeks.

Alongside Ali Campbell, special guests for the July 18 show include David Rodigan, General Levy and The Marley Experience.

Tickets for UB40 featuring Ali Campbell go on pre-sale at 10am on Wednesday (October 21) for residents who live in the following postcodes: SY7, SY8, HR6, DY14, WR15.

Remaining tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Friday (October 23).

Ali Campbell was the lead singer of UB40 from when it was formed in Birmingham in 1978 until 2008, when he departed the band over a disagreement about the group’s direction and management behind the scenes.

After stepping away, Ali formed a new band: UB40 featuring Ali Campbell.

UB40, known for songs like Food for Thought and Red Red Wine, has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, received numerous Grammy nominations, scored hits across the globe, and toured internationally.

This summer’s Live at Ludlow Castle event was the “most ambitious yet”, organisers said.

Artists like Snow Patrol, Paul Weller, The Human League, Richard Ashcroft, Miles Kane and the Scissor Sisters took to the stage inside the famed walls of Ludlow Castle.

Since it was started in 2023, Live at Ludlow Castle has become one of the events of the year in south Shropshire.
