Powys town council steps in to help young couple often stuck on their drive by inconsiderate drivers

A Powys town council has stepped in to try and help a young couple who say they often can’t get off their drive because of inconsiderate drivers.

The couple contacted Rhayader Town Council recently to raise the issue.

They said they live opposite the public toilets at Cwmdauddwr, Rhayader and people park right outside and sometimes leave their vehicles there for a while.

They said it means they often can’t get their vehicle off their driveway.

The council previously suggested that the couple could put a sign on their house telling people not to park there but members questioned where they could position the sign.

Rhayader Mayor Councillor Christian Walton then suggested the council could put a sign on the toilets saying ‘no parking’ to try and help the young couple’s situation.

Members agreed to put up a no parking sign on the toilets.
