Police CCTV appeal after children 'shout abuse' and flee officers on e‑scooter in Telford
The police have shared CCTV footage of the trio
Police are appealing for information after three children on an e-scooter shouted abuse and fled from officers in Telford.
West Mercia Police said that, at around 11.53am on Wednesday (Jul 29) officers were patrolling Dawley High Street when they noticed an e-scooter being ridden “at speed” on the pavement.
A spokesperson from Dawley & Malinslee's Safer Neighbourhood Team said the scooter was being ridden by three children, believed to be aged between nine and 12.

When the police attempted to stop the trio to “give some words of advice” the children reportedly shouted abuse at the officers before riding off in the direction of Brunel Road.
The three were then spotted again riding at speed along a public road.
“E-scooters may seem like a convenient way to travel, but they are not legal to use in public places,” the police spokesperson added.
“They can also be dangerous, with accidents leading to serious injuries for riders, pedestrians, and other road users.”
Police have now shared CCTV footage of the scooter being driven on the pavement along Dawley High Street.
Their faces have been blurred as children cannot be identified for legal reasons, but officers are hoping their clothing may be enough for someone to recognise them.
Those who recognise the children are asked to contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team by emailing [email protected]
