'No plans' for 999 joint control room
Ambulance bosses have said they have "no plans" at present to merge control rooms with other emergency services serving Shropshire.
It comes as police and fire bosses prepare to begin preliminary talks on sharing resources.
West Mercia and Warwickshire Police have £2.4 million of Government cash to carry out a scoping exercise to determine how they could combine their control rooms and work more closely with other 999 services.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they are not looking to merge facilities at the moment. But Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed they will take part in talks with police.
The brigade is working with Hereford and Worcester Fire Service that could see them operating the same command, control and mobilising systems by the start of 2015.
