The changes would apply to stretches of New Park Road and Woodhall Close to cover the main school entrances.

A spokesperson for the council said: "The introduction of a 20mph speed limit on New Park Road and Woodhall Close, Shrewsbury in line with Shropshire Council’s guidance from 2023, is proposed to improve the safety of school children, residents and other road users."

A consultation for the plans is open until February 26, with documents available for viewing at Shrewsbury Library during regular opening hours.
