Inquest opened into death of Builth Wells woman who suffered an un-witnessed fall
An inquest has been opened into the death of a Builth Wells woman who suffered an un-witnessed faill at her home.
Joan Harrison, 88, was admitted to Hereford County Hospital on July 28 but due to complications with her health, she passed away on August 8.
She was identified by routine hospital identification.
An inquest at Pontypridd Coroner's Court on Wednesday was told no post mortem was carried out but a hospital consultant gave a provisional cause of death as a fall leading to multiple injuries and osteoporosis.
South Wales Central Area coroner Rachel Knight was told Ms Harrison lived at Caerwnon Park in Builth Wells and was born in the West Midlands.
Ms Knight said she believed it was necessary to open an inquest into Ms Harrison's death as it may have been unnatural. She adjourned the inquest for a further hearing at a date to be fixed and she passed her sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ms Harrison.
