But she said it was a dream come true to finally get the keys to her own salon in Wellington’s Duke Street, which opened on Saturday with support from her friends, family and even Wellington Mayor, Councillor Reg Snell.
Lisa, who has named her new salon “Hair Definition by Lisa”, said: “This has been a dream of mine for so many years.

“I’ve always known that I wanted my own salon, and I finally reached the point where I thought ‘why not?

“I absolutely love hairdressing. I love making people feel good about themselves. I love the creativity of it, whether it’s a beautiful hair-up, a colour transformation or something completely different.”

She said the doors opened at 1pm to her new business, and the opening day, which was attended by the mayor and a host of family, friends and clients was a “massive success”.
“I’m so proud I’ve finally got my own little salon,” said Lisa.
“It was a massive success. I just want to say a huge thank you to Kerrie and Rachael, my sister Julie and all my amazing family, friends and clients who have helped me.
“And and a massive thank you to my husband and my kids for helps me with everything and keeping me sane.”
