Flowers, beautiful Shropshire fields and music - the latest events set for the county
Two concerts are planned ahead of the annual petal spectacular.
The organisers behind Shropshire Petal Fields have announced two brand new music events taking place in the picturesque flower field ahead of the festival opening.
Plans are in full swing to bring in an orchestra and staging for Proms in the Petals: Films & Musicals Edition on Saturday, August 1.

A 50-piece orchestra led by conductor Bedwyn Phillips will perform songs from film, stage, and screen.
The stage will be positioned within the field, near Newport, with guests encouraged to bring picnic blankets to enjoy a unique open-air concert.
Before that, on Friday, July 31, there will be an ABBA tribute night for Pop in the Petals with sought-after tribute act ABBASensation booked to perform.
Organisers said that fancy dress and dancing are encouraged.
The opening dates for the main Shropshire Petal Fields event are not revealed until the flower team can be sure the blooms will be at their best from the more-than 3.5 million seeds that are planted for the event.
Shropshire Petal Fields in Newport is due to be open for 11 days in August.
At the event people can wander through a colourful flower field of delphiniums, cornflowers, sunflowers, and wildflowers, and explore some woods next to a tranquil lake.
Shropshire Petal Fields is a joint venture between Shropshire Petals and Shropshire Festivals.
Beth Heath from Shropshire Festivals said: “Our festivals evolve every year to keep them fresh and interesting, so we wanted to add something extra special to this year’s offering at Shropshire Petal Fields.
“I am very excited to be bringing a Proms event with a 50-piece orchestra to the petal fields.
“For one very special evening, come and enjoy music from movie soundtracks and musical theatre favourites played by some incredibly talented musicians. There will be wonderful music, an amazing view, a stocked bar, and an unforgettable experience.
“And all you Dancing Queens need to join us on July 31 for our ABBA tribute night, for our new Pop in the Petals event!”
