Art event brings in £4,000 for Bridgnorth Food Bank

An annual Bridgnorth art event has raised £4,000 for the town’s food bank following a hugely successful event this year.

The Bridgnorth Open House Arts Trail, which sees local artists exhibit their works in houses, businesses and buildings around the town, took place in June.

The event raised £4000 for Bridgnorth Food Bank which organisers say plays a vital role in the provision of emergency food and basic essentials for people and also supports them in the medium term.

The cheque was presented to food bank founder Liz Bird on Tuesday by the mayor of Bridgnorth Chris Aked and mayoress Gillie Aked.

Louise Holland, organiser of the arts trail said: “The Bridgnorth Open House Arts Trail are delighted to be able to donate £4,000 to their chosen charity - Bridgnorth Food Bank.

“This included some very generous donations from the artists on the trail as well as from ticket sales.

“Thanks to all these artists and also to those who were involved, both organisers and the people of Bridgnorth who opened their homes to the public.”

The Open House Arts Trail returns in June 2027.
