Writing on social media Ellesmere Fire Station said: “The Ellesmere crew have just returned home station from a property fire.

“At 13:18 the Ellesmere crew were mobilised to a ‘fire in the open’, en-route fire control informed us this was now a ‘property fire’ and Baschurch and a level two officer had now been mobilised.

“On an arrival one air conditioning unit had been involved in fire which had spread to approximately 2m of hedge, the fire had mainly been extinguished by the occupier.”

The update added that the crews used one hose reel, a thermal imaging camera, and small tools to dampen down and monitor the affected areas.
