20 fabulous pictures of family fun, outlaws and alpacas as Market Drayton Carnival returns to town

The carnival was back this weekend marking one of the largest community events for a north Shropshire town

Market Drayton Carnival saw thousands descend on the town for a parade, live music and family attractions.

Families enjoyed fairground rides, free balloon animals, inflatables, alpacas, face painting and a wide range of stalls on Cheshire Street.

The popular carnival parade set off through the town centre at midday on Saturday (July 18) before the festivities continued in Town Park, where live music and entertainment ran throughout the afternoon.

There was plenty to keep families entertained, including the return of the popular bucking bronco, free balloon animals from Snaggers Balloons and the Market Drayton Carnival Photo Booth, where visitors were given free souvenir photographs.

Animal lovers met friendly alpacas during the day, while face painter Carly Cartwright added a splash of colour to the celebrations.

Cheshire Street was once again lined with market stalls showcasing independent businesses, charities, crafts, gifts, food and drink.

Organised by a team of dedicated volunteers, Market Drayton Carnival remains one of the highlights of the town's summer calendar, with something for all ages to enjoy.
