Electric mobility brand is opening stores across Europe.

Flying Flea – a new electric sub-brand of motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield – has kicked off operations with its new C6.

Set to be sold in stores in Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin and London, the new electric motorcycle will be priced at £5,300 here and aims to bring a ‘fresh dimension to urban transportation’, according to the brand.

Inspired by the original Flying Flea of the 1940s, which used a lightweight design that allowed it to be parachuted into battlefields during the Second World War, the new bike uses an exoskeleton frame and a new interpretation of the original’s front suspension arm.

This precision-engineered aluminium girder fork makes it the motorcycle on sale today to use the system and helps to give the bike a more old-school design but with modern-day performance.

Royal Enfield claims a range of up to 65 miles on the C6, alongside a top speed of 72mph. A total torque output of 60Nm should allow the bike to offer quick responses, too. A 20 to 80 per cent charge can be completed in just over an hour as well.

It’ll be offered in three colours – Flea Green, Storm Black and Parachute White – the C6 gets TFT screens for key information with the touchscreen instrument cluster allowing access to controls and readouts when on the move. A pillion can be brought along for the ride, too, with adjustable footpegs there to help tailor the positioning of both riders.

B. Govindarajan, managing director, Eicher Motors Ltd. and chief executive officer, Royal Enfield, said: “Our foray into electric mobility through the differentiated Flying Flea brand reflects our long-term intent to build a new category of electric mobility. The response to the Flying Flea C6, our first electric motorcycle, since its launch in Bengaluru, India has been outstanding with early riders logging over 100,000 customer-ridden kilometres in just three months.
