All 10 screens at the town centre cinema will be turned into Luxe rooms, complete with 'luxury reclining seats', Dolby Atmos sound and 4K projection.

The Forge Gate cinema revamp, which Odeon says is set to be complete by early autumn, will also see the venue boast a new Oscar's Bar, an improved Costa Coffee and more.

Deputy manager at the attraction Simon Bytheway also promised 'plenty more exciting news in the pipeline'.

"We are currently undergoing extensive refurbishments at Odeon Telford, including new luxury reclining seating, to ensure our guests experience the very best in cinema entertainment," he said.

This will be the first Odeon Luxe in Shropshire.

There are just seven Luxe cinemas across the UK currently, including Bradford, East Kilbride, Putney, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Haymarket.

Odeon at Telford remains open, with films being shown, and work going on in the background.
