Final days for Whitchurch home and garden store as town centre site hits the market

A home and garden store in Whitchurch has confirmed its final day of trading will take place this week, as the building goes up for sale for £800,000.

Colour Supplies is set to close its Mill Street store in Whitchurch this Friday (February 27) as the long‑standing premises goes on the market.

The business, which also operates branches in Oswestry and Wrexham, said the Whitchurch shop had been “a special part of our journey” and staff would be “very sad” to lock up for the final time.

They added: "We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has popped in to share kind words, visited our other stores or brought in gifts for our staff - your support has meant more to us than we can put into words. Thank you for standing by us throughout the years."

It comes as the store goes up for sale, with Halls Commercial listing the "substantial" property for offers in the region of £800,000.

The three-storey property offers almost 20,000 square-feet over three floors, which Halls said would "lend themselves to a variety of uses - including residential conversion.

A spokesperson for Halls Commercial said: "The property interests provide the rare opportunity to acquire a substantial property in Whitchurch with car parking that would lend itself to a variety of uses in particular residential development."

Castle Hill car park, with space for around 30 vehicles, is also being marketed alongside the store for £300,000.

The listing is available to view online at zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/commercial/details/72390337.
