Wolves turn down £21m for star duo
Wolves today confirmed they have rejected a £9m bid from West Ham for winger Matt Jarvis.
Wolves today confirmed they have rejected a £9m bid from West Ham for winger Matt Jarvis.
The club also revealed they have rejected an offer in excess of £12m from Sunderland for Steven Fletcher.
West Ham's offer for Jarvis is understood to be £6m now with £3m in guaranteed add-ons.
The bid isn't enough to tempt Wolves into selling, with the 26-year-old, who cost the club around £600,000 in 2007, having three years left on his contract and the club not needing to cash in on another of their star assets.
Wolves also have to pay Gillingham up to 15 per cent of the profit if they sell Jarvis, which equates to £1.26m on a £9m fee.
Meanwhile new Wolves signing Slawomir Peszko today insisted he can cope with the pressure of expectation at Molineux.
The 27-year-old Poland international winger finally completed his signing on a season-long loan from Cologne with a view to a permanent deal.
"There's pressure there which I'm used to and they have 50,000 people at every game who are desperate for the team to win," said Peszko.
