Que Sera, Sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to Coventry, Que Sera, Sera.

Que Sera, Sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to Coventry, Que Sera, Sera.

The vocals of Jermaine Grandison apart, those lyrics have arguably resonated most during the week of celebrations which have followed

Shrewsbury Town's elevation to League One. Both in terms of proximity and glamour, the trip to the 32,000-capacity all-seater Ricoh Arena has captured the imagination of ecstatic Town supporters already plotting next season's away days. And for Grandison himself, the short trip to the home of the 1987 FA Cup winners is also providing a source of excitement.

The right-back – whose popularity continues to escalate almost by the day – spent his entire footballing education with the Sky Blues before signing for Shrewsbury, initially on loan in January 2011 and subsequently permanently.

And the prospect of a reunion is enough to guarantee Grandison's wide smile will remain for a good while longer yet.

"It will be great to go back to Coventry," said the 21-year-old.

"I was there from when I was 10 until I was 19 so it's been a big part of my life.

"It was where I became a defender because I was a centre forward until I was 15 but then centre-half just became my natural position.

"I played a few times for Coventry against the likes of Newcastle which was a great experience for me and it will be nice to go back there and see a few familiar faces."

But all that lies in the future.

For now, Grandison and his Town team-mates are solely focused on ending a memorable campaign in style at AFC Wimbledon.

It promises to be a day of celebration in all four corners of the ground, with Town's hosts marking the end of their first ever season in the Football League at the same time as Shrewsbury wave farewell to League Two. But Grandison insisted Town are only interested in accumulating another three points and extending an unbeaten record – dating back to March 19 – which could stand at 10 games come 5pm tomorrow.

"It's been a great week and I will remember what has happened for the rest of my life," he added.

"To see all the fans who have supported us all season on the pitch celebrating was brilliant. But the manager has told us to be ready for tomorrow because we want to go down there and get the win."

AFC?Wimbledon boss Terry Brown will check on the fitness of Christian Jolley before choosing his squad .

Jolley trained yesterday but is struggling with shin splints. Gareth Gwillim is definitely out as he has not trained all week due to a virus and Ricky Wellard is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Defender Fraser Franks will come into the reckoning at the back, while midfielder Reece Jones is expected to feature after missing out against Barnet last Saturday.

Brown said: "Shrewsbury have been under a lot of pressure in recent weeks to clinch promotion and, now that they have, they can relax and play football."
