Super Shrewsbury Town sealed a famous promotion amid joyous scenes at Greenhous Meadow. A 1-0 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge was enough to clinch automatic promotion from League Two. James Collins headed the all important goal on 38 minutes from a Nicky Wroe cross to secure the three points needed. A sell-out crowd at the Greenhous Meadow saw Shrewsbury return to the third tier of English football for the first time in 15 years.

A sell-out crowd at the Greenhous Meadow saw Shrewsbury return to the third tier of English football for the first time in 15 years.

It was a sixth career promotion for Town boss Graham Turner and arrived 33 years after he steered the club to what is now the Championship.
