Morris missed Tuesday night’s League Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest with a knee injury.

Town boss Paul Hurst has revealed is set for an operation which will keep him out for four to six weeks.

He said: "Bryn's struggling. It looks like he's going to have to require an operation.

"Unfortunately that's not good news for us. It's the first really bad news for us on the injury front.

"You'll have to speak with the physio for the exact terminology but surgery is required.

"He'll probably be out for an estimation of about six weeks.

"We hoped he was just feeling it. We sent him away to check but it wasn't good news.

"As of Monday Bryn was due to play or be available but then we took the decision after he said he'd started to struggle more and it stiffened up.

"We sent him away and unfortunately it's not positive.

"Gradually it's caught up with him more and more and we need to take action."

The former Middlesbrough man picked up the knock during the pre-season friendly defeat at AFC Telford.

Morris was fit enough to start the opening-day victory over Northampton but was troubled by the problem in the following days.
