AFC Telford keeping Graham Hutchison

AFC Telford United have received a boost to their survival battle after keeping Graham Hutchison – while new signing Dwayne Samuels should be available.

Former Scotland Under-19 international Hutchison has had his loan extended from Halifax for another month.

The Shaymen agreed to him remaining at the New Bucks Head when his initial stay expired this week.

It means the 22-year-old centre-back is available for tomorrow's trip to mid-table Boston United, as Rob Smith's side bid to make up the seven-point gap to safety.

Hutchison's performances have been one of the highlights of Telford's dismal run and the Birmingham City academy graduate is now available for the next five games.

Smith said: "It's a boost to keep Graham, subject to paperwork because he's done well for us.

"We were waiting on dialogue from their manager (Darren Kelly) and we'd set a deadline of last night to get it done but thankfully it was done before then.

"I'm pleased because he was excellent last Saturday and he's grown into it and got better as time has gone on, but he needs more games really."

Smith could also receive a further boost on five counts with Jack Rea (hand), Mike Grogan (knee), Dave Hibbert (knee) and possibly Jack Deaman (hamstring) available again.

Samuels has been cleared to make his return to the club ,but their availability is tempered by the doubts surrounding Sean Clancy.

Smith said: "Jack might be fit for tomorrow and Dwayne's clearance should come through today.

"Dave and Jack have both trained and although they both lack match fitness, they will both be in contention to play some part.

"But Sean has an ankle injury and didn't train on Tuesday – I'd say he's 50-50 at best."

Boston are 11th in National League North, but have the third worst defensive record in the division having conceded 26 times already.
