Dwayne Samuels returns to Telford
AFC Telford United have made their second signing in a week with the return of Dwayne Samuels - and are trying to extend the loan of Graham Hutchison.
Right back or winger Samuels, 24, has signed on non-contract forms after leaving Brackley Town and will replace the injured Izak Reid.
West Brom academy graduate Samuels will be one of two new faces in the squad for tomorrow's trip to second-placed AFC Fylde with on-loan Oxford United midfielder Josh Ashby, who signed earlier this week.
They may be joined by Mike Grogan, who could feature on the bench after having a cyst removed from his knee.
Boss Rob Smith was delighted to have captured Samuels.
He said: "I've known Dwayne for a while and with the need to replace Izak, he was available quickly and he fits the bill.
"He's proven at Conference North level so it's a low-risk signing and it's a case of 'needs must'.
"He's a dogged defender with lots of experience at this level so it's not like bringing a young lad and I have no concerns about signing a player like that.
"He's offered to come for nothing for the first few weeks which sums up his attitude as the sort of lad we need.
Samuels previously played for the Bucks from November 2011 to March 2012, playing in 16 Conference Premier games, starting six times.
Starting his career at The Hawthorns, he joined Grimsby Town in August 2010 and featured 11 times in non-league's top flight along with a loan spell with Redditch United before being released in June 2011.
From the Mariners he joined Telford and later had spells with Worcester City and Harrogate Town before linking up with Brackley.
Reid has had a scan on his damaged ankle and will receive the results early next week. If he needs surgery he will have it immediately.
Smith will now try to extend the loan of FC Halifax centre-back Hutchison, who is due to play the last game of his month's loan tomorrow in place of Jack Deaman.
The on-loan Cheltenham defender has pulled a hamstring and will be out for two weeks.
Meanwhile, longer-term casualties Dave Hibbert (knee) and Jack Rea (hand) are set to return to light training.
