AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton felt a new-found relaxed approach helped his side to a vital 2-0 Blue Square Bet Premier League victory over Forest Green Rovers last night.

The result moved the Bucks six points clear of the relegation zone with five games to play.

And Sinton was full of praise for his hard-working side, revealing he had changed the approach to training ahead of the game in a bid to secure a much-needed win.

"I thought long and hard about training this week," said Sinton. "And I thought how did we train before the play-offs?

"If anyone had come to watch us just before the play-off final they would have thought we were messing about.

"I did the same this week. We trained properly but it was lot lighter and a bit more relaxed. I wanted to get the weight off everyone's shoulders.

"It's just a case of relaxing. Rather than people say make it happen, we wanted to let it happen. You do things far better in life if you just relax.

"Everyone knows the importance of the games but we didn't harp on about that. The players know that and they were brilliant. There was some big characters and some big performances and it was a massive win."

An early red card for Forest Green defender Chris Todd helped Telford's cause as two goals from Chris Sharp secured the win.

But Sinton felt the performance fully merited the three points.

"I thought we were terrific," he added. "I thought the boys were magnificent."
