Newport Town boss looking forward

Newport Town boss Nathan Mcauley has shrugged off a controversial cup defeat.

Town lost 3-2 to Bilbrook in the West Midlands Division Two League Cup final amid claims that their rivals fielded an ineligible player, Telford's Darren Campion.

But Mcauley, whose men clinched the divisional title weeks ago, prefers to look ahead after promotion. "It's a fantastic opportunity for a club like ours to be playing at a higher level," he said.

"It was disappointing to finish in the manner we did, with a cup final defeat. But it should not detract from everything else we have achieved this season."
