Haughmond, whose first team are flying high in the West Midlands Premier Division, are keen to give talented local youngsters a clear pathway to playing at as high a level as possible.

They have now decided the time is right to press ahead with their plans to recruit promising young players aged between 16 and 18 to play in the West Midlands Junior Floodlit League.

The midweek matches will take place at their home ground at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Haughmond committee member Mark Jenks said: "The time is right now to look at our youth structure and it's a great chance for local youngsters to get involved with the club.

"We want to give young football talent in the Shrewsbury area the chance to showcase their ability and in time break into the Haughmond first-team.

"Then, who knows, what they might possibly be able to go on to achieve."

Jenks added anyone interested in getting involved in the management team must be an FA qualified Level 2 coach. The closing date for managerial applications is Friday March 4.
