The New Saints boss Craig Harrison today revealed Dan Gosset's desire to join the club is what helped land the trial midfielder a contract.

The 20-year-old free agent knows the level, after featuring in the Welsh Premier League for Rhyl last season, and has now joined the champions.

The Bangor-born Oldham Athletic youth product managed to make two first-team appearances for the Latics, before he was released in 2014.

He's also featured for English non-league side Stockport County and will bring skill and bite to TNS in the middle of the park, Harrison suggests.

He said: "Dan's been training with us for over two weeks and has done really well. He is good technically, dynamic, powerful and can also tackle.

"For me, the most pleasing thing is that he has travelled a round trip of over 100 miles for two weeks.

"He's shown great enthusiasm and commitment to take his opportunity. It is great to see so much hunger and I am looking forward to working with him."

Gosset will be available for selection travel to Airbus UK Broughton in the league on Saturday and will wear the No 15 shirt for the Saints.
