No return to Bucks for Danny Ventre

AFC Telford boss Steve Kittrick has confirmed that midfielder Danny Ventre will not be returning to the New Bucks Head next season.

But fellow midfielder Jack Rea could be back for pre-season after undergoing surgery to a knee.

Kittrick has continued his summer overhaul of Telford's first team this week, in the wake of their relegation from the Conference Premier.

Asked whether he would be speaking to Ventre about a new deal, he said: "I have spoken to him and said there is nothing on offer for him."

He said he was thankful for Ventre's effort and hard work during the season, which saw him make 17 appearances for the Bucks following his arrival in January.

Ventre, who counts Chester, Accrington Stanley, Sligo Rovers and Derry City among his former clubs, passed up interest from Football League sides to join Kittrick's team at the start of the year.

He established himself as a regular in the heart of midfield alongside Godfrey Poku and netted his only goal in March's 2-0 win at Braintree.

But Kittrick has bolstered his midfield options this week with the arrival of Tom Thorley from Hednesford and ex-Worcester City man Jay Denny while Sean Clancy and Mike Grogan have also committed to remaining at Telford.

Kittrick also remains hopeful of retaining Poku. And Rea could offer yet another option provided he can prove his fitness following knee surgery this week.

He took to Twitter to confirm: "Knee operation completed."

Kittrick said:

"Jack's got to come and prove his fitness and then we can talk about a deal."
