Telford Tigers release Andrejs Maslovskis

Telford Tigers have announced the release of Latvian Andrejs Maslovskis with immediate effect, writes CAROLINE GARBETT.
Player-coach Tom Watkins said the decision had been reached in the best interests of the player and the club
“Andrejs is a hard worker and well-liked within the organisation, but we have struggled to find the right line mates to get the best out of him.
“We have tried various combinations, but not succeeded in creating a winning partnership.
“Given the very tight financial framework we’re working within, we need to deliver the best possible value to trust members and supporters and that means making sure every line ‘clicks’.
“We also believe that releasing Andrejs now gives him plenty of time to look for a new team – where his undoubted skills will fit better – before the signing deadline in January.
The 26-year-old Latvian has his say in tomorrow’s Shropshire Star.
