Shrewsbury Town were today sweating on news of striker Tom Bradshaw - after the teenage hotshot was stretchered off playing for Wales under-19s.
The former Aberystwyth forward helped the young Dragons to a 1-1 draw against Kazakhstan in Bridgend last night, securing their passage to the next phase of the UEFA under-19s European Championships.
But the evening ended on a sour note for Bradshaw, who was taken to hospital with an ankle injury which he suffered deep into injury-time.
"I understand he was taken for an X-ray on his ankle but we're still waiting to hear how bad it is," said Town boss Graham Turner.
"Managers of international players have had to put up with this kind of thing for years and when it hits your club it's a problem.
"He has been on the bench for most of our games but hasn't been a regular starter so that makes it less of a blow for us.
"But for a young man like Tom, if it does prove to be anything serious, then it's a big blow for him.
"From a brief discussion with the physio it sounds like it might be a soft tissue injury but there's a possibility of a break in there," he added.
Meanwhile, New Zealand striker Kris Bright was due to step up his recovery from an Achilles injury with an outing for the reserves in this afternoon's clash with Morecambe at the Greenhous Meadow.
There is also a start for midfielder Kevin McIntyre, a scorer in Saturday's 4-3 defeat at Chesterfield after he came off the bench.
But one first team squad member still missing for that one is winger Lewis Neal, who is ruled out by a left calf strain which he suffered playing for the second string against Burnley earlier in the month.
Reserves line-up: Ben Smith, Danny Taylor, Connor Goldson, Harry Hooman, Dan O'Donnell, Jon Taylor, Kev McIntyre, Elliot Turner, Steve Leslie, Kris Bright, Benjamin Van Den Broek.
Subs: Ryan Wood, Omar Recci, Kane Cork, Ben Evans, Hakan Duyan.
