Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner has said young striker Tom Bradshaw will get his first team chance - after the Welsh forward netted on his international debut last week.

Bradshaw has yet to play a minute of League Two football this season with his only action coming in the Carling Cup defeat to Stoke City.

But he netted for Wales under-19s against Liechtenstein on Monday night and impressed Welsh manager Brian Flynn with his all round display.

And Turner has said the 19-year-old has a big future at the Greenhous Meadow.

"He is an outstanding prospect," said the Town boss. "He has the knack of putting the ball in the net and that is a great knack to have.

"He's always likely to score a goal. What he has got to start to do for us is improve in the build up but he is an outstanding prospect."

Bradshaw made an immediate impact for Shrewsbury when he netted twice on his debut against Crewe last season but has seen first team opportunities limited by the early season form of Matt Harrold and Jake Robinson.

But Turner added: "I have been impressed with his attitude in training and he certainly has a part to play for us.

"He's doing everything he can for us and there's no problem with Tom."

And Turner said he was pleased the young Dragon, who signed for Shrewsbury from Welsh Premier League side Aberystwyth Town, had managed to break into the Welsh ranks.

He added: "It's a great honour for the lad to have got a taste of international football.

"It's great for him to have gained international experience at such a young age."
