Lawrie, 19, penned a one-year deal with the Bucks following his release from Port Vale and impressed on his debut against Wolves in midweek.

And the twice capped Northern Ireland international is confident he can help Telford to glory in the Blue Square Bet North, starting with today's opening fixture against Hyde.

He said: "I've been lucky enough to play for Northern Ireland and come through the ranks there. I'd now like to come to Telford play some games, do well for Telford and do well personally.

"I prefer to play up front but I'm happy to play anywhere really to get some games and hopefully score some goals and make sure Telford are successful.

"Ineed to improve my decision making but that will come with games."

And the young forward said he had no hesitation about dropping down two levels to play at the Bucks Head

Lawrie added: "I've not had much first team football recently so I don't see it as a step down — brilliant facilities, brilliant fans and I can't wait to get started."
